Food, Glorious Food!

In the past week or so, PJ has been trying more and more foods. Added to his list, he has now tried pears, green beans and applesauce. I haven't found one thing that he truly dislikes!

Today, he started trying to pick up things up with his thumb and pointer finger, so I thought I would try to give him some Cheerios. He didn't know what to do with them, so I had to feed him. I am sure he will slowly get the hang of it... For now, I will enjoy this time where he wants me to feed him and needs my help!

One teeth, two teeth

When I got to work, I got a call from James... PJ got his first tooth (bottom left). I was so upset that I hadnn't seen it before I left! As soon as I knew he was at Sheena's, I called her and asked her to check... SURE ENOUGH- it was there!

As soon as I picked him up I checked out his mouth and could feel the razor sharp tooth poking through. That night when I gave him his dinner, I noticed something on the bottom right... Upon further inspection, I found out it was his BOTTOM RIGHT TOOTH! So, 2 teeth in one day... Let's hope his other teeth come in as smoothly as those did!!!

Just call me MA MA!

This afternoon when I was changing PJ's diaper, he all of the sudden said, "MA MA". Now I know he wasn't saying it toward me, but just to hear that, melted my heart. I am looking forward to the day he looks at me and says, "Mommy".

PJ also had his 1st vegetable today- CARROTS! I chose to give him those because they are more sweet than other vegetables. I have always HATED cooked carrots, so I am hoping that PJ will like them since they are good for you. He seemed to enjoy them, and some of them ended up on his clothes. I really need to get some of those plastic bibs so I don't ruin the other ones! :-)

Layci's 1st Birthday/Mother's Day

This past weekend we went down to South Florida for Layci's 1st birthday party! I can't believe she is already a year old! We went down on Thursday night and were able to stay until Monday, which meant we all celebrated Mother's Day together as well.

On Friday, I finally took the plunge and chopped my hair off! I was a little disappointed at first, and was missing my hair, but now I love it. It takes less than 10 minutes to blowdry!!! That night we went to Hunter and Savannah's LAX picnic. There was music and food and PJ really enjoyed being outside!

Saturday was the big party day!!! In the morning we went to Hunter's last LAX game of the season, and PJ got a little sunburned! That South Florida sun will get you even when you are in the shade!

Layci had a blast at her party! She loved her cake that her mommy made for her, and played in the pool that PJ got her! Everything turned out just perfect for our little princess!

Aunt Sissy also gave PJ a little taste of the homemade icing, and he thought it was YUMMY! For dinner, PJ tried his first fruit- mashed up bananas... definitely a favorite for him.

Later in the afternoon, when the sun went down a little, James and I took PJ in the pool. HE LOVED IT! He was kicking his legs and smiling and laughing! We put him in Brady's float toy and pulled him around the pool a little bit.

Sunday was Layci's actual birthday, which also happened to be Mother's Day. What a wonderful gift for my sister! :-) We made sausage, egg and cheese casseroles, as well as, french toast casserole, and James went out and brought us Starbucks and some bagels from our favorite bagel shop. He and PJ got me cards and a beautiful pink orchid plant. It was so wonderful to be around my husband, son, and the rest of my family. We had a bar-be-que that night which was the perfect ending to a perfect family weekend.

PJ and I on my 1st Mother's Day!

Front to back and front again

Up to this point, PJ was only able to roll back to front. He would roll himself over onto his belly and then SCREAM because he couldn't roll back to his back. Well today he was finally able to roll every which way. My little monkey is offically a roly-poly!
