Highlights From the Holidays!

Prepare yourself for a fairly long post that contains highlights from our holiday season!

We had lots of fun decorating our house and getting ready for the holidays this year! It was the first year PJ was really able to help put ornaments on the tree, and he LOVED it!
Of course most of the ornaments ended up being in one spot which was perfect height for him, but after a bit of adjusting, the tree came out perfectly!
We also made a gingerbread house that PJ got to enjoy eating with Jonathan a few days after it was made! He loved putting all of the candy on it, and snuck several pieces to snack on while he and Daddy worked on it.Another fun thing holiday thing we did was go to Elf Night at Dorothy B. Oven. Every year, there is one night when Santa himself makes an appearance at the park along Mrs. Claus, elves, gingerbread men, toy soldiers, polar bears, penguins, etc. They serve hot chocolate, apple cider, and cookies to snack on as you walk around and look at the lights and try to snap a few pictures with one of the many characters. This was the first year that we went, and I can honestly say that I am not sure I will go again. There are just way too many people especially when you are trying to push around a stroller and chase a 3 year old! PJ had a great time looking at all of the lights, listening to the music, and jumping up and reaching for the "snow". (They had a snow machine, too!) Unfortunately, he would not take any pictures with the characters, and the line was an hour and a half wait to meet Santa, so we just enjoyed the lights for a little while, and headed out JUST BEFORE it started pouring! Here are a few pictures from that night:
Here was our attempt at a family portrait which was a fail and a direct indication it was time to go!After we left the park, we decided to go to the mall and get some Chik-Fil-a (our favorite) and stop in to visit Santa. It is so funny how I was only able to get 1 kid at a time to look at the camera, but I am just happy with this memory nonetheless. This was the first year that PJ didn't cry, and happily sat on Santa's lap.

I am working on finishing up posts from PJ's 3rd birthday, Christmas, and some milestones for Addisyn!!! Those will be up soon! Happy Thursday!
